Havaianas, the famous Brazilian footwear brand, has recently opened a temporary pop-up store on Champs-Élysées in Paris. The store, which covers 149 square meters, is designed to give visitors a taste of Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana beach, with a giant screen showing live clips and a sun sculpture made of 478 flip flops. This unique and exotic décor aims to transport customers to the vibrant beaches of Rio.

The store will be open until August 31, allowing Havaianas to take advantage of the Paris Olympics for increased visibility. Studio Xag, a B Corp-certified company, was responsible for designing the sustainable interiors of the store. A special room is dedicated to showcasing the brand’s collaborations and capsule collections, providing customers with an immersive experience through sounds, lights, and textures.

Havaianas, founded in 1962, has a global presence in over 100 countries. France is a strategic market for the brand, with 38 monobrand stores across the country. Harm van de Camp, the president of Alpargatas Europe, highlighted the importance of the French market for Havaianas, stating that France is one of their top markets in Europe and has shown steady growth since the brand’s entry into the country.

In addition to the pop-up store in Paris, Havaianas operates 992 monobrand stores worldwide and has a strong presence in multibrand retailers. The brand, owned by Brazilian group Alpargatas, has sold over 5 billion pairs of flip flops since its inception. Van de Camp emphasized the importance of staying ahead of industry trends, mentioning the impact of digital transformation, the rise in demand for personalization, and the value of collaborations in the rapidly changing footwear and fashion industry.
