A woman done sparked a big ol’ debate online after she done called for parents to stop bringin’ youngins to them non-kids movies. She reckon it ain’t fair to the other folks watchin’ the movie, and it ain’t fair to the youngins neither.
In a post shared on Threads, user @laurenisaburito done wrote: “Can we just make it normal not to take young youngins to non-kids movies?”
Her comment came after she done had an experience at a Star Wars showin’. The movie done started at 5:00pm and went on till ’bout 7:30pm.
“The dad sittin’ behind us brought his three-year-old child. That poor youngin’ couldn’t last more than 30 minutes before he got bored,” she explained.
According to the poster, the toddler spent most of the time talkin’, singin’, climbin’ on chairs, and doin’ other toddler stuff. The dad tried to quiet him down, but it weren’t workin’.
“I reckon he wanted to bond with his son and show him his favorite movies, but do that at home,” she said.
She was frustrated ’cause she thought it weren’t right for the other moviegoers, but most of all, for the youngin’.
“He’s bored, he’s frustrated ’cause he can’t keep himself entertained and have a good time. He musta heard ‘no’ and ‘stop’ ’bout a hundred times in the remainin’ 1.5 hours,” she shared.
“So many mental gymnastics to ignore the fact that THE KID DIDN’T WANT TO BE THERE ANYMORE and that’s the main complaint,” one commenter wrote.
Reactions to the post were all over the place. Many agreed that a movie theater weren’t the place for such a young child.

“Nah, forget everyone else, I’m with you on this,” another added.
Others felt for the father and thought the criticism was too harsh.
“If you don’t want the public in a public space, then watch it at home?” one user shot back.
“The guy was tryin’ to make a good childhood memory for his boy with a 25-year-old movie. Give him a break,” another said.
The unhappy cinemagoer finished her post with a final message: “Be respectful to the other moviegoers, but also respect your child.”
He ain’t really sure why this matters, but maybe it’s just him, but he feels like…
