Keke Palmer and SZA are set to bring laughter to the big screen in the upcoming TriStar Pictures film, One of Them Days. The movie, scheduled for release in January 2025, is an R-rated buddy comedy that follows the adventures of two friends in Los Angeles who are struggling to make ends meet and pay their rent.
Although this marks SZA’s debut as a feature-film actress, she and Palmer previously showcased their comedic chemistry on a 2022 episode of Saturday Night Live. Palmer, who confirmed the project through an Instagram post on April 26, 2024, expressed her excitement by saying, “I CAN’T WAIT!!!”
In addition to the talented cast, Issa Rae is producing the film alongside Sara Diya Rastogi through their production company, Hoorae. Other producers include Palmer and her mother, Sharon Palmer, screenwriter Syreeta Singleton, Deniese Davis from ColorCreative, and Charles D. King, James Lopez, and Poppy Hanks from Macro Film Studios. The film is directed by Lawrence Lamont.
The recently released trailer for One of Them Days promises plenty of laughs, showcasing SZA and Palmer’s comedic talents. The duo portrays Alyssa and Dreux, two best friends who find themselves in a bind when Alyssa’s boyfriend empties her bank account, leaving them scrambling to pay their rent on time.
Joining SZA and Palmer in the cast are familiar faces from popular shows like Euphoria and Abbott Elementary. Maude Apatow from Euphoria and Janelle James from Abbott Elementary make appearances, along with Katt Williams, Lil Rel Howery, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Joshua Neal, Aziza Scott, Patrick Cage, and Amin Joseph.
