Traveling with infants can be a challenge, but for one adventurous Norwegian couple, there seems to be no limit to where they’ll take their little one. Tora, 32, and Marcus, 31, known as @TorasTravels on TikTok, have been sparking controversy with their unconventional baby-carrying methods during their recent visit to the Emerald Cave in Thailand.
The couple, who have gained a following for sharing their global explorations, decided to venture into the underwater caves with their ten-month-old baby in tow. The catch? The cave was only accessible via swimming, making it impossible for their infant to join in on the adventure.
Not to be deterred, the resourceful parents took their guide’s advice and placed their baby in a plastic tub, creating a makeshift carrier for the little one. With three people supporting the tub with floating vests, Tora and Marcus navigated through the 260-foot tunnel, giving their baby a front-row seat to the stunning sights.
While the couple felt confident in their decision, the online community had mixed reactions to their baby’s unconventional transportation. Some praised the duo for their creativity, with one fan calling it “incredible” and another commending them for finding a way to let their baby enjoy the experience. On the other hand, critics raised concerns about safety, questioning the lack of a life vest for the baby and the stability of the plastic tub.
Tora, however, stood by their choice, emphasizing that they took every precaution to ensure their baby’s safety. As first-time parents, the couple acknowledged the importance of being cautious but also recognized the value of stepping outside their comfort zone when it comes to traveling with kids.
In an interview with Newsweek, Tora shared that their baby found the experience enjoyable, laughing and cheering as they explored the cave. Despite the mixed reactions from viewers, the couple remains proud of their decision to include their baby in their travel adventures.
As the debate over their parenting choices continues, one thing is clear – Tora and Marcus are determined to share the world with their little one, one plastic tub at a time.
