So, like, there’s something about Tracee Ellis Ross’ style that just always feels kinda timeless and put together, no matter what she wears. Last night in the big apple, New York City, the Girlfriends alum took on hosting duties for this fancy schmancy event called “Black Hair Reimagined: The New Era of Beauty” show by Echelon Noir Productions. For this, like, super special evening, Ross hung out with some other famous peeps like Justine Skye, Paloma Elsesser, and Solange—whose son, Julez Smith, was strutting his stuff on the runway. She decided to go for a sleek and high-fashion look, rocking these not-yet-released, ox-blood red slouchy wedge boots by Balmain from Olivier Rousteing’s Fall 2025 collection. If anyone’s gonna bring back the wedge boot trend, it’s gotta be Ross, am I right?
She paired these bold boots with a totally black outfit, including black pants and a big zip-up jacket. Even though her clothes were like, super minimalistic, her accessories were totally on point. She had these chunky gold bracelets on both arms and some earrings that were almost touching her shoulders. Ross totally showed us how to let your bling do all the work for you.
According to some press release I read, the night was all about celebrating Black art and hair and the artists who are making it all happen today. The event was jam-packed with famous folks and it’s one of the first big things happening before the Met Gala this weekend. All the big shots are starting to show up in New York, gearing up for the first Monday in May. We’re not really sure if Ross is gonna make an appearance at the gala this year, but there are some rumors floating around that she might show up with her brother Evan Ross and their iconic mom, Diana Ross.
At the end of the day, it’s clear that Tracee Ellis Ross knows how to work a red carpet and make a statement with her fashion choices. Whether she’s rocking a bold pair of wedge boots or keeping it sleek in all black, she always manages to look effortlessly chic. With the Met Gala just around the corner, we can’t wait to see if she’ll make an appearance and continue to slay the style game. But hey, who knows? Fashion is all about taking risks and having fun with your look, so maybe Ross will surprise us all with another iconic outfit. Time will tell, my friends. Time will tell.
